Esther Sargent is a successful entrepreneur in the sewing industry.  Her career developed at the tender age of ten as she watched her mother sew on the Singer sewing machine.  Her job was to rip out her mother’s mistakes.  She loved every minute of  it, because this was the only sewing she was permitted to do.

Today, Esther specializes in alterations, custom dressmaking, bridal attire, home decorating and teaching. She is a Trained Sewing Educator of the Home Sewing Association, Sulky Certified Teacher, BeautiControl Color consultant, and Flatter Your Figure specialist.

Esther was director of her own sewing school for over three years. Earlier in her sewing career; she was an instructor for the Kids Can Sew Program which was developed by Carolyn Curtis of Saint George, Utah.  Much of Esther’s experience was gained in the retail fabric industry.  She worked at Cloth World, So-Fro Fabrics and Joann Fabric. She was a Singer Sewing Machine Demonstrator, Sample Maker, Beginning/Advanced Sewing Instructor and Sales Associate.

Esther has over 40 years sewing experience; and 20 years of teaching sewing. She has taught over 300 people how to sew in classes and workshops. In addition she was a literacy teacher, a public school teacher and 4-H Club Sewing Instructor.

Currently, she teaches Kids/Teen sewing classes at Hancock Fabric in Montgomery, Alabama.
